High Point Tech Training

Hello High Point staff! We are getting so close to moving in to our new High Point building and there is a bunch of cool technology for you to use with students in that building.  It’s important that you know how to use this technology, but we also know that you don’t have time for a lot of training.  So, I have worked with Brad and our friends in Technology to design some technology training to help you learn to use this technology in small bites throughout the school year.   Current Newsletter Past Newsletter Links -  Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets - Meta Quest 2 WiFi Network - iPad WiFi Network Portable Power Bank - OmniCharge Power Bank Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) - AAC Apps Enabling Device - Pouring Cups Switch Toys - Toys Communication Device - Little Step-by-Step Mounts - Modular Hose & Friction Knob Timer - 12" Time Timer Document Camera - Elmo OX-1 Switches - Orby, Specs, and Little Candy Corn Classroom Audio Distr...

KALPA

What is KALPA? A Michigan company that catalogs and tracks Professional Development for teachers and districts.  Why do we need to use KALPA? Staff members need to be able to show proof of the meeting and proof of attendance for MOECS when reporting DPPD and maintaining their professional certificate. KALPA allows for easy uploading of sign-in sheets and meeting agendas or notes that connect right to the “course.” We will also utilize KALPA when tracking Lifelong Learning for staff. Activate Windows - Laptop Pop Up Message

For those of you who have laptops, you may be getting an error or message stating you need to Activate Windows. You may see something similar to the image below on your laptop background in the lower right corner:   This happens when your laptop hasn’t connected to our WISD Internal network for a long period of time. Your WISD Windows laptop needs to check in to the WISD network every six months or so to renew the Windows license. The best course of action is to bring the device to the WISD TLC building and login on the wireless network (WISD-Internal). When the device checks in to the network, it will renew the license automatically and the message should disappear.   The wireless signal should be strong enough to reach the parking lot, you should be able to reach the WISD-Internal network without even entering the building. People have been able to reach it from their car, while others have had to walk up to the building to reach it. You simply login, connect to the WISD-Int...
